Jack Rose is classic cocktail popular made with applejack, grenadine and lime or lemon juice. It became popular in 1920s and 1930s and it appeared in one of Ernest Hemingway’s, The Sun Also Rises.
The Jack Rose is also listed in David A. Embury’s The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks as one of the six basic drinks.

Ingredients:

• 2 parts applejack
• 1 part lemon or lime juice
• 1/2 part grenadine

Glass:

• Cocktail glass

Preparation:

1. Mix ingredients and shake well.
2. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass.
3. Garnish with apple slice or cherry.
