Rob Roy cocktail is an IBA Official Cocktail made up of whisky and vermouth. It was created by a bartender at Waldorf Hotel in New York City during the introduction of the Dewar’s Scotch Whisky in the United States.
This mixed drink has similar qualities of a Manhattan cocktail except that the Rob Roy uses vermouth instead of rye. This drink also has sweet, dry and perfect version. The Old Fashioned cocktail is made by dissolving sugar with bitters and by adding alcohol such as whiskey or brandy and garnished with a twist of citrus rind. It is typically served in an Old fashioned glass, thus the mixed drink’s name.

It was said that Elliot Stubb, an English steward of Sunshine sailing ship, was the creator of Whiskey Sour. Upon his leave in Iquique, he opened a bar and experimented different aperitifs and drinks –one of them is the whiskey sour.
